Job Profile
The M&E Assistant is responsible for assisting the execution and implementation of various activities within the MEAL unit. Provide general support to the unit that will ensure smooth implementation of various planned activities to ensure compliance with ADRA and donor requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring proper administering of M&E tools for the M&E Unit focusing on achieving the following results:
- Preparation of field tools for data collection
- Participate in field pre-testing of data collection tools
- M&E tools are well administered according to set guidelines to randomly selected interviewees
- M&E tools used for Data collection properly tagged or serialized for easy tracked/trace
- M&E tools are administered to the selected interviewees who have been identified as a standardized sampling method
- Maintaining and collecting data and updating the progress of the work plan
- Undertake field trips for purposes of data collection
- Ensuring proper filing of incoming and outgoing M&E documents of various activities within the M&E Unit focusing on achieving the following results:
- Documents of various activities are well filed in a chronological manner for easy retrieval and references
- Ensuring proper filing of incoming and outgoing M&E documents of various activities within the M&E Unit focusing on achieving the following results:
- Provision of secretarial duties for M&E unit, e.g. photocopying and printing of M&E tools
- Ensuring the provision of general assistance to the M&E Unit to ensure smooth execution and implementation of various activities of the M&E unit focusing on achieving the following results:
- Providing assistance in organizing, arranging and scheduling various activities within the M&E Unit
- Assist in community sensitization and mobilization of various project activities aspects
- Ensuring the provision of general assistance to the M&E Unit to ensure smooth execution and implementation of various activities of the M&E unit focusing on achieving the following results:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in M&E, Development Studies, Social Science, Education or Statistics (preference will be given to someone with strong applied knowledge of survey CTO or ODK or Kobo)
- At least 3 years of professional experience in monitoring, evaluation and reporting of projects and programs
- Excellent track record in project management
- Experience in field data collection and survey mechanism
- Must be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding work-related information and data
- Good administrative and organizational skills
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and under pressure to meet deadlines
- Networking and collaboration skills
- Excellent program implementation and report writing skills
- Demonstrated ability in Data Collection, Data Management and Analysis
- Computer skills, especially statistical analysis
- Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Skills in capacity building, training, and coaching
- Familiar with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the internet
- Knowledge of project cycle and related tools and methodologies
- Must be fluent in written and oral English
- Basic familiarity with the Luo language will be an added advantage
- Basic cultural knowledge of Acholiland, including the Districts of Agago, Pader, Kitgum, and Lamwo. Working experience with the Luo people will be an added advantage
