To catalyze farmers to realize their potential Cycle Connect offers asset financing directly to the most remote farmers. Our first product, a bicycle, connects farmers to market and other basic life needs. Our portfolio is growing with new assets that push upward mobility for rural farmers. We’re dedicated to serving farmers who are financially excluded and yet need access to assets on credit.

To date, we’ve disbursed over 4,000 loans and are focused on another 3,000 in the coming twelve months.

Job summary:

As a Finance Intern, you will work closely with the finance department.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

-Support the Finance and Accounting officers in the preparation of daily and monthly journal entries

-Review invoices from suppliers and related supporting documentation

-Process employee reimbursement requests

-Interact with employees on expense claims

-Review and ensure that all payment related documentation is filed serially in the proper files.

-Support the Finance and Accounting officers in the preparation of monthly reconciliations

-Contribute to identifying inefficiencies in the current processes in order to improve the processes, and assist in implementing financial accounting procedures, and internal control checks

-Carry out administrative duties such as filing, photocopying, composing correspondence, posting correspondence by mail and recording minutes at meetings

-Other duties to support the team

Key Result Areas/ Accountabilities:

-Accuracy in recording accounting transactions

-Speed and accountability for completing assigned tasks within deadlines

-Maintain strong relationship with Cycle Connect team to assist in collection and training of team to follow accounting procedures

 

We are looking for someone with:

-A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, B.com or BBA

-Capacity to work independently and under pressure

-Good knowledge of MS Word and Excel

-Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information

-CPA level two is an added advantage

-Knowledge of Quickbooks accounting software is an added advantage
