Position: Community Development Facilitator
Report to: Project Officer
Location: Abim, Kaabong and Kotido, KARAMOJA REGION
Purpose of the position:
Contribute to achieving retention of out of school girls in schools through supporting the Project activities in line with the design and donor requirements; and supporting the roll out of best practices and models in a manner that promotes ownership and sustainability.
Major Responsibilities
- Mobilize project participants for project activities;
- Participate in school mapping exercise in preparation for project activities;
- Supervise and monitor ongoing school based project activities;
- Work with teachers, community volunteers to identify out of school children;
- Collect school data and update it on a monthly basis to reflect attendance and retention of children
- Maintain an updated register of schools data;
- Produce timely, accurate, compliant and quality data for report;
- Participant in project management meetings and reflection forums;
- Support and participate in district education Advocacy initiatives;
- Mobilization of teachers and parents for project activities;
- Effectively document all information related to girl child enrolment trends in targeted school;
- Responsible for capturing individual children attendance, performance and behavior indicators related to drop out of children;
- Document good practices and project success stories and share them.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- A Bachelors Degree in Education, social science or any related field
- Experience at working with pastoral communities is desirable
- Knowledge of the local language is desirable
- Good Training facilitation and coordination skills
- Ability to monitor, report and document
- Experience in data collection
- Experience in working with teachers and school management committees is an advantage
